Qorchat

SMS terms and conditions

These terms govern the text messages Qorchat sends. They are the terms and conditions for the Qorchat text-message programme.

Last updated 2026-09-22.

In one paragraph

Programme name: Qorchat, operated by Fourthman LLC. What we send: six-digit verification and account-recovery codes, only when you ask for one in the app. Message frequency: one message per request; you control how often by how often you ask. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop receiving them. Reply HELP for help, or contact support@qorwyn.com. See our privacy policy.

What these messages are

Qorchat sends a text message in exactly two situations, and in both of them you asked for it moments earlier from inside the app:

  1. Verifying a phone number. You chose to add a number to your account, so a six-digit code goes to it to prove the number is yours.
  2. Account recovery. You are getting back into your own account and asked for a code by text.

A message looks like this:

Qorchat code: 418025. Do not share it.

That is the whole message. It does not name you, your username, your account, or anyone you talk to, so a text seen over your shoulder tells the reader nothing about who you are.

What these messages are not

  • They are not your conversations. Qorchat messages are end-to-end encrypted and travel between devices; they are never sent as a text.
  • They are not marketing, offers, product news, surveys or newsletters. We do not have a marketing text programme and will not add you to one.
  • They are not automatic. Nothing is sent unless you asked for it in the app.

Agreeing to receive text messages is a separate choice in the app from accepting any other terms, and it is never required to sign up, to use Qorchat, or to keep your account. Qorchat is fully usable without ever giving us a phone number.

If you would rather not receive a code by text, you have alternatives inside the app: verify an email address instead, or use the recovery code you wrote down when you set the account up. Both do the same job.

Message frequency

One message per request that you make. There is no schedule and no recurring send. Qorchat limits this in any case: at most six codes per account per hour, and at most ten codes per day to any one number, whoever asks for them.

Cost

Message and data rates may apply. We do not charge you for a verification code, but your mobile carrier may charge you for receiving a text according to your own plan. Ask your carrier if you are not sure.

Stopping the messages

Any of these will do it:

  • Reply STOP to a message. For our United States toll-free number, opt-outs are handled by the mobile carriers, the only keyword they honour is STOP, and the confirmation you receive is written by them, not by us. Once you have replied STOP, the carriers will stop delivering our messages to that number.
  • Remove the number in the app, under your account's identifiers. The number's hash is removed from your account and nothing further is sent to it. A short proof that you had agreed to texts is kept for 12 months, not linked to your account, and then deleted; the privacy policy says exactly what it holds.
  • Write to us at support@qorwyn.com and ask.

Stopping text messages does not close your Qorchat account, and it does not stop your conversations, which never travelled by text in the first place.

Getting help

Reply HELP to a message, or contact support@qorwyn.com. On our United States toll-free number the reply to HELP is a standard response written by the carriers; for a real answer from a person, use the support page.

Delivery is not guaranteed

Text messages depend on your carrier and on the networks between us. A code can be delayed or can fail to arrive for reasons outside our control. Codes expire ten minutes after they are sent; if one does not arrive, you can ask for another, or use your recovery code or email instead.

Supported carriers

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Who sees your number

To deliver a code we hand the number and the message to our SMS delivery provider, Amazon Web Services, which hands it to the mobile carriers. They see it in order to deliver it. We do not sell, rent, or pass your number to anyone for their own messaging or marketing. The privacy policy sets this out in full, including what we store and for how long.

Changes

If these terms change, the date at the top changes and the new version is published here before the change takes effect.
